Hiking and traveling
I spend almost every holiday somewhere close to nature, so I can walk along Latvia's nature trails. Even when we travel abroad, we opt for active recreation. The last time we went from a very relaxing holiday on the south coast of Spain to our favorite walks, because I was attracted by the mountain views that you can't experience at home. So one day in Benidorm I decided to climb La Cruz de Benidorm, from the end of the beach I had to climb a rather steep hill, which was quite a challenge considering I was not very physically prepared. When the going got tough and my muscles ached, I kept telling myself, "Just take the next step. Sometimes I repeated this mantra hundreds of times during the climb. And step by step I finished. I like a challenge and the feeling you get when you have completed something difficult by stepping out of your comfort zone is a great one.
