This latter is to express my interest in discussing the vacant position of chief cook/camp boss and permanent contract. I hope that my professional experience and education will make me a competitive candidate for this position.

As indicated in the enclosed resume, I am a chief cook and camp boss with 25-year experience on various vessels including cargo ships, floating hotels, ferries and offshore vessels (DSV, OSV, RDV, ROV, Jack Up, TSHD…). I have also experience working as a chief cook in restaurants (in A La Carte and buffets). As a chief cook and camp boss, I was mainly responsible for running and supervising accommodation and catering departments, managing day-to-day operations, as well as overseeing and training catering staff. In addition, I was responsible for planning menus, providing a high level of customer service, ensuring that all food is stored in appropriate way, managing stock and inventories in accordance with high quality and safety storage standards, preparing reports, and ordering food and supplies. I am highly skilled and efficient in staff management, planning and developing menus, developing techniques for food preparation, food purchase specifications, and recipes for all menu items and specials.

I always demand the very best from myself in all things that I do. This allows me to demand the same from my staff. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated strong ability to maintain high standards of quality, sanitization, health and safety. I always make sure that all food products and supplies are inspected, fresh and of high quality so that the established standards are always met.

I am efficient working in a busy, fast-paced environment under stress. Furthermore, I am highly motivated, disciplined, hardworking, and confident specialist with strong management, leadership problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills. I have a friendly, patient and understanding attitude towards my colleagues.
